Always hated "contradictions". Now I'm more fascinated with it especially when I'm waiting for a bus. I mean think about it. We live in society, where the lights are all on, designed with a variety of sciences by some guys behind the curtains. The same very society is derived with a different engine, say it is money or religion. The designers are mere experimenters in order to derive us to nowhere?! But here, let us assume the driver knows where he is going with the gas he has! Further: we are brought up to expect rewards for certain kinds of behavior, the one the driver had taught us, and then we are thrown into a world in which none of the signals work.
Ok. not fascinated?
We are taught as children to be kind, self-sacrificing, and helpful, never to be greedy or aggressive. Then read history. Be critical. It's like living in a ruthlessly competitive economy. We are taught to be honest, in preparation for a world in which honesty is often penalized and dishonesty in a thousand forms, I know four or five!, is often rewarded. Our ambition is stimulated and we are assured of success if we will only apply them ourselves. Think about it...What would you do?
There was a game in kindergarten my time. Where ten of us were actually playing to sit on nine chairs. Now, by the nature of things, in society, nine out of ten must be disappointed and chance carries as much weight as merit, the result is mass frustration and despair. Now, take some more steps with me: what is the measure of stability here? where is madness of wisdom and is there any escape from "into the dark" or we have to "be a man of character and not a man success". I'm mean feel free. Ask! Do we have a real, yet adaptive, coherence in our leadership today?
It is so fascinating. I don't want to story-tell. But look at it more closely. Watch Happy Christmas songs during WW2. Check it on Youtube. See how dark and gloomy it looks? Jot down the keywords: family, peace, world. Now check the Coca Ads during 1960 and then come up to 1990. Advertisement is a giant industry. Game theory tells how to play your cards. The mass is the target. The movie makers: start with a writer with high social capital in his pocket. And then the filming industry comes up. And one morning you get up and read a black guy is your president.
Think about it. The police gets a wrong guy. They prosecute an innocent. They charge him and the jury convicts him to death penalty. And he dies. Where is the real murderer? And a lot easier in a middle east country, read it Iran, one morning two days from conviction with no jury, no advocacy at five o'clock a student is waiting to die. And are you really safe in the US if some one is dieing this simple in middle east? Not fascinated?
Remember, we assumed we are having a safe driver. But do you really know where this bus is taking you to? Get real because you should get off if it is not your bus.
